BSE’ general engineering conference kicks off

Manama, Mar. 16 (BNA): The Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE) today opened its general engineering conference, themed “Towards Sustainable Engineering Environment and a Promising Future”.

The event is part of BSE’ Golden Jubilee celebrations, held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

On the sidelines of the conference, BSE signed two cooperation agreements with the Capital Municipal Council and the UK-based Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).

The event attracted a large number of officials, academics, engineers and speakers from Bahrain and abroad.

Addressing the conference, BSE President, Dr. Dhiya Abdulaziz Tawfiqi, praised HM the King’s patronage of BSE’s Golden Jubilee celebrations.

He indicated that the conference tackles several topics pertaining to the challenges and strategies of preparing the future generations of Bahraini engineers to cope with modern developments.

He highlighted BSE’ keenness to extend bridges of cooperation with local and external academic and engineering entities to boost the engineering sector in the kingdom and provide the labour market with qualified engineers.

In this regard, he expressed delight at BSE’ signing of cooperation agreements with Saleh Tarrada, on behalf of the Capital Municipal Council, and John Barnes, on behalf of the Institution of Civil Engineers in the UK.
