Abu Dhabi-based Borouge has said that its ‘Borouge 4’ polyolefins complex in Ruwais is set to begin operations in 2025 and work is progressing as planned.
Borouge manages the project, which is co-owned by UAE’s ADNOC and Austria’s Borealis, the company said in a statement.
The complex will add 1.4 million tonnes of polyethylene capacity, increasing Borouge’s total annual polyolefins production capacity to 6.4 million tonnes.
Polyolefin solutions are used in infrastructure, energy, advanced packaging and agriculture throughout the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific.
Upon completion, Borouge 4 will boost the total annual production capacity of polyolefins in the UAE to 6.4 million tonnes.
