Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced on Monday that it has commissioned a 132/11 kV substation with a conversion capacity of 150 megavolt-amperes (MVA) at Majid Al Futtaim Development’s Tilal Al Ghaf mixed-use project in Dubai.

The substation project also included 300 metres of 132kV ground cable to connect it to the main transmission network.

By the end of 2022, the total number of 132 kV transmission substations in Dubai reached 334, in addition to 29 stations under construction. In 2022, the DFM-listed utility built 15 132kV stations (with a total conversion capacity of 2,280 MVA) and two 400kV stations (with a conversion capacity of 4,000 MVA) at a total cost of 3.2 billion UAE dirhams ($871 million).
