Dubai-listed district cooling company Empower will invest AED 450 million ($122.5 million) to supply services to Dubai Maritime City (DMC).

The company revealed in a statement to Dubai Financial Market (DFM) that it had signed a contract for a project with cooling capacity of 63,000 refrigeration tons (RT), the first since Empower’s listing on Dubai Financial Market (DFM) in November 2022.

The new cooling facilities will provide services for 43 buildings in DMC in two phases, with two plants in the city.

The first phase will supply 27 buildings with a capacity of 28,000 RT and the second phase 16 buildings with 35,000 RT cooling energy.

DMC is part of Dubai-based port operator and global logistics company DP World. The city is home to residential properties, hotels, offices and shops.
