Ayloush Family Legacy: Pioneers in Agricultural Trade in the Middle East
For over seventy years, the Ayloush family has been a prominent name in bringing the finest agricultural products to the Middle East. The journey began in 1937 when Salim Ayloush, the family patriarch, started importing spices from India. This marked the beginning of a legacy of agricultural trade that spanned across generations.
The Early Years: Establishing Strong Roots
Salim Ayloush’s passion for quality agricultural products led him to establish strong trading relationships between Lebanon and the Arab Gulf countries. His sons, Akram, Mowafac, Rafic, Ahmed, Farouk, and Abbott, all followed in his footsteps, expanding and enhancing the family business. Their dedication and commitment to quality agricultural goods earned them a solid reputation in the region.
Expansion to Turkey and the USA
In 1983, amidst the turmoil of the Lebanese Civil War, brothers Akram and Mowafac moved to Turkey and founded UNIMEX, a company specializing in bananas and the import/export of fresh fruits. Their move to Turkey was a strategic step that allowed them to continue growing the family business despite challenging circumstances.
Meanwhile, brothers Rafic and Ahmed remained in Lebanon, managing the operations for EGT (Elouche General Trading Co.). Their efforts ensured that the business continued to thrive in Lebanon during a difficult period. Additionally, Abbott established Ayloush Enterprises in the USA, expanding the family’s agricultural trade to international markets and diversifying their operations.
A Legacy of Excellence and Innovation
Throughout the years, the Ayloush family’s commitment to delivering the finest agricultural products has remained unwavering. Their success in importing and trading agricultural goods has allowed them to build lasting relationships with suppliers and customers worldwide.
The Ayloush family legacy continues to thrive, as they remain a cornerstone in the Middle Eastern agricultural trade. The next generation is poised to carry forward the family’s tradition of excellence, ensuring the continued growth and success of the business.
