Public Prosecutor highlights law on restorative justice

Manama, Mar.16 (BNA): A discussion session was held today remotely, focusing on alternative sentencing for children.

 

Public Prosecutor Dr. Ali bin Fadhl Al Buainain patronized a virtual session that was attended by the Family and Child Prosecurtion, and other parties in charge of enforcing the provisions of the restorative justice for protecting children from abuse.

 

He stressed the efforts harnessed by judicial and executive authorities to ensure protection and care for children in light of the law on restorative justice for the protection of children from abuse.

 

He said that the law on restorative justice for the protection of children from abuse represents a crucial milestone for children’s rights, paying tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his humane approach.

 

“Children are the wealth of nations and the source of their renaissance and the basis for completing the sustainable development process that Bahrain is witnessing in various fields”, he said.

 

He urged all parties to unite to protect children and guarantee their basic rights and work to preserve their dignity and safety against all that exposes them to danger or ill-treatment.

 

Officials representing the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the General Authority of Sports, Governorates, municipalities and the Supreme Council for Women took part in the virtual session..
