The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) announced holiday dates for those employed in the private sector to mark UAE’s National Day.

MoHRE said that private sector employees in the UAE will get two official holidays on the occasion of the 52nd UAE National Day.

December 2 and 3 will be a paid public holiday for private sector workers.

UAE National Day holiday

The UAE National Day is also referred to as  Union Day, as the country marks the official unification of the emirates in 1971.

Last year, the private and public sectors were given a day off on December 1 to mark Martyrs’ Day, now known as Commemoration Day. Combined with the National Day holidays, workers had enjoyed an extended break at the start of December.
